Xolo X1000

Xolo has rolled off some great phones over the past year. Their new model- Xolo X1000 is so far their most powerful phone and it looks the best, performs great and you would love to have one. It makes an exception in the processor, it goes old school using the Intel processors. Intel makes the Atom processors for mobile devices. The built of these phones are great too and especially on the Xolo X1000, their frontrunner flagship smart phone.

The phone looks very simple. It is smartly and slightly curved around the corners. It looks more like the Nexus 4 from the edges and back. The phone is made of high quality plastic fiber. Xolo X1000 feels really good on your hands. The hold might not be too comfortable compared to those with curved back but it surely feels great holding it. The finishing on this phone is really smooth, so that helps. It does look like the nexus 4 to me. Xolo X1000 weighs roughly around 140g. it is really light and does not form a problem carrying it around. The smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB port. It just comes in black. Sorry to disappoint you white lovers.

Xolo X1000 has a beautiful 4.7 inch TFT capacitive touch screen display. It a HD display with a resolution of 720x1280pixels giving it a 312ppi pixel density. It is amazing to see how precise the colors are on the display. The 4.7 inch HD screen gives you great output of HD content. Thanks to the larger size, you won’t be tired watching videos for longer duration or browse or play games or simply read anything. The viewing angles are not as great as they should be but decent enough, acceptable enough. This is a great accomplishment by Xolo to be able to develop such a rich screen for an affordable price.

The Intel powered smartphone comes with Android v4.0.4 out of the box but has got the Android v4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade in recent times. Android is one of the two best OS in the world right now. Though the v4.1 Jelly Bean is popular but their most popular OS is still the Gingerbread which was Android v2.3 which came way back in 2010. Android devices have limited upgradation and this might be a problem on what apps would be available and depends widely on compatibility. Android might not be as uniform as it should be. Android has wide range of applications. With Jelly Bean you get Google’s amazing voice search which recognizes speech not from specific words but by also considering the whole sentence and accordingly reconstruct if it did not get it correct the first time. It is on the money and it works great.

The smart phone by Xolo, the Xolo X1000 has an amazing 8PM primary camera. It is really good and captures wonderful images. The still shots look really amazing and so do the moving shots thanks to appropriate shutter speeds and the sensors ability to focus. It does use both the auto focus and the touch to focus for the camera to focus on a point. It also comes with LED Flash so that you can take pictures in the dark. The photos might seem a bit over saturated and way bright than it is supposed to be but it is better than washed off colors. The front camera has a 1.3 MP sensor. The back or the primary 8Mp camera is capable to capturing beautiful full HD video in 1080p quality. It looks wonderful.

Xolo went out to produce their smart phones with Intel Atom processors. The one on board with the Xolo X1000 is a 2GHz Intel Atom Z2480 processor. It also has 1GB of RAM on board. The phone is faster than the higher priced Samsung Galaxy SIII and the Samsung Galaxy Grand. It still comes short of the Micromax Canvas HD and for some reason Xolo X500 scores higher on the benchmark tests. The response time for inputs is ok, the phone is not entirely smooth, the performance weighs off as soon as it starts getting a bit bulky. But it runs even the heavier games like the God of War without much hesitation.

Memory and Data

Thanks to Xolo, many of the users won’t go for larger memory capacity microSD because this phone comes with 8GB of internal memory. Like we said earlier, the main memory on the phone was about 1GB. The memory on the phone is expandable to up to 32GB. There is no NFC but it does have Bluetooth and microUSB slot. You can connect phone to internet via cellular 2G or 3G or the Wi-Fi.

Final Thoughts

Xolo X1000 is a good phone. It is powerful and has great quality from the built to the processor and the display. The speakers are amazing. It is a real fast phone. Good feel when you touch it and responds well. The call quality and battery life is great. Everything about this phone is good.

Xolo X1000 comes for Rs.18,500
