Xolo QC800 Review

By -

XOLO as the smartphone makers have made amazing phones. Now they have gone ahead and released a tablet. The XOLO QC800. The tablet is really impressive but does not stand true to the XOLO tag really well. The XOLO QC800 does have amazing specifications let’s see if it stands on them and holds itself high.

Here is why I said it does not hold true to the XOLO tag- because the design is not so great and so it the build quality. XOLO QC800 has this weird textured back which does not feel great at all. It is not something you would like to hold everyday. So, get a cover! The front is pretty good but looks really plasticy and not so desirable. The screen is scratch and finger print prone so make sure you get a good scratch guard as well. The sound quality of the speakers are not good too, the speaker placement itself is questionable.

The display really impresses me. It is a very beautiful 8 inch display. The colours are so wonderful with a really vibrant tone. It makes you forget all about the design shortcomings. It has a resolution of 1024×768 pixels. The video playback is really good. The 8 inch allows you to use really amazing interactive apps without any problems. The GPU totally gives you a great performance and compliments the display really well. IPS technology gives it great viewing angles.

Like I always say, the front camera makes more sense on a tablet than the one at the back. XOLO has done a terrible thing by casting a bad camera on both the sides. The primary one is just 2 MP and the front facing is a VGA both of which give really noisy image. Their recording capabilities does not impress too.

XOLO QC800 comes with Android v4.1 Jelly Bean mobile OS. It is a really basic, almost untweaked version of the Jelly Bean OS. It offers you great control on how you want everything to look. If you know how to program you can do a lot of creative things on Android but that is what it makes it slow over a time as well. It degrades RAM usage and processor optimization. Google Play is really healthy in terms of applications available.

This tablet features an extremely powerful with it’s Quad Core processor and 1GB of RAM. It has a really decent battery life of 12h on 3G. The internal memory on board the XOLO QC800 is 4GB. The more you will expand it, the slower it tends to become. It does not do anything extra ordinary. It lacks the wow but is a very decent tablet for daily usage. It comes with Bluetooth and microUSB to share and transfer.

Final Thoughts

XOLO QC800 has a big reason as to why you should buy it- it is much affordable than tablets such as Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and others in it’s category. It will last longer because the UI is lighter on the processor. XOLO is really reliable. It is not your tablet if you want something fancy.

XOLO QC800 comes for Rs. 13400
