Xolo is one company among the herds that is making amazing products for a lower price but crucially without compromising the quality. Their new device, the XOLO Q1000 is a brilliant example for the other budget smart phone makes on how Xolo Q1000 has been made into a powerful yet a fair priced device. It fancies a Mideatek 1.2GHz Quad Core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It also has a decent 8MP primary camera and a 1.2MP secondary camera. Xolo has not even compromised on the basic feel of the phone and the built. You can even say it feels much better than Samsung budget phones.
Xolo Q1000 comes with the most basic of designs that is on the most of the phones, the basic structure-the corners are curved and so are the edges at the back. Basic body of the phone is made out of plastic and feels really good in the hands. It is smooth and does not feel like cheap plastic body. The phone could be a bit better with the positioning of the speakers. The overall dimensions of the phones are: 143.5 x 70.8 x 8.8 mm (5.65 x 2.79 x 0.35 in). It’s pretty long thanks to the -5inch display that has been provided and the body is pretty thin as well. Xolo Q1000 is kind of heavy when you compare it to most of the 5-inch phones, it weighs about 175 grams. The usuals are present on this device as well like the 3.5mm headphone jack, volume rockers and microUSB slot. The phone is available in black and white colours.
Thanks to their engineering team of display which have been able to pull out a 720p HD display on a size of a 5 inch screen without price of the phone being too high. First impression of the display is quiet nice. You can make out surely that there is no visible pixilation. True 720p video streams the way it should with the lightness to the PowerVR GPU it moves like fluid on the display. Colours are really rich and it has decent sharpness to it. Viewing angles are ok but not to desirable extent. The black levels are also decent but could have been better for a great 720p display. The pixel density of the display is around 293 ppi and hence you get the idea how dense the 5 inch display might be to pack so much and look brilliant too.
We are thoroughly disappointed by the ability of budget smart phone cameras but Xolo have produced the most decent ones. Maximum smart phones that fall in the range of 8,000INR-15,000 INR take really dull photographs with highly washed off colours. Thought the camera interface might be decent but it is of no use unless the lens takes breath taking photographs. The 8MP primary camera does a better job than most. Colours look still a bit underdone but far from most budget phones. It is also capable of capturing full HD 1080p video. Sadly for some, there is no HDR mode or panorama. But, panos can be captured with suitable apps as well so that is not a problem. Front facing camera has a very limited of viewing angle but does a good job on video calls. Photographs from the front camera are pretty noisy if not under natural light. LED flash allows you to capture photos in the dark. There is no dedicated night mode for post processing low light or images taken in the dark.
XOLO Q1000 has Android v4.2 Jelly Bean on board. It is one of the latest versions of mobile operating systems by Android available. The user interface is pretty fresh and makes the navigation inside through the phone pretty easy. Play Store has a stream of apps available for free to explore and make full use of. Google has tons of different APIs that they have made available to the developers hence allowing them to develop apps that are much more creative are different and that’s what Android ecosystem does. Xolo Q1000 can be deeply customized thanks to the v4.2 Jelly Bean.
Performance and Memory
Mideatek also makes real good processors and one live example comes on this very own phone. Xolo Q1000 has a 1.2GHz Quad Core processor that is really responsive. When you have a processor that fast you need a vast RAM too. Xolo Q1000 has 1GB of RAM. It works in good symphony to do fast enough of work. The touch is decent and response time is real good. The smart phone carries 4GB of internal memory which is expandable to up to 32GB. Xolo also provides the latest version of Bluetooth with v4.0 on the phone. It does not have NFC though. Overall the phone works pretty fine.
Xolo Q1000 provides the most with utmost quality at the most decent price possible. Xolo Q1000 is really fast and provides a decent response time during multi-tasking as well. Camera and display are absolutely to die for at the given price. The phone can do so much more for so less- best reason as to why you should buy this.
Xolo Q1000 comes for Rs. 13330
