Xolo A500S Review

I am sold to XOLO. They have been doing the best work for the best possible price. With the market in India going down we are now loathing for phones that can give us quality and performance for a reasonable price. Recently I checked the HTC One price which is now Rs.8000 more to an already 40 grand phone. So you see what I am saying here? Xolo A500S is a thing of beauty. It is the most affordable smartphone and the performance it gives, it will leave your mouth open.

I prefer XOLO instead on Samsung when it comes to built quality, yeah it is that good. Even on XOLO A500S which is very affordable, they have provided an amazing finish. The back panel is really smooth and it feels great in your hands. It is absolutely stunning, the overall look and the fact that it is so affordable yet so awesome. I just cannot stress the fact enough as to how great this phone compares to its price. The design of the body is a tad different than other Xolo phones. It is really light weighing just 120 grams. It comes in Black, White, Red and Blue.

Xolo A500S has a 233ppi 4 inch TFT capacitive touch screen display on board a Rs. 7000 phone. If you are not wow-ed now I don’t know when you will be. The display has a resolution of 480×800 pixels. The display has a really beautiful look towards it. The colours are great and it also maintains a good balance between them. It is not perfectly uniform but that is okay as it is a budget smartphone. Gaming experience won’t blow your mind or anything but compared to phones in the same category, way- way better without a doubt.

Xolo A500S Camera
This smartphone comes with a 5MP primary sensor. It is one of the best lenses you get on smartphone around that cost. Though it is pretty average, it can do the usual job of clicks to upload on social media and work as a secondary device to save some special memories. Out of great lighting conditions the camera does produce noisy photographs and really noisy ones when it comes to low lighting conditions. It records really good 720p video from the primary sensor, it is really good. The front VGA camera is so-so. Not an ideal front facing camera but not bad too.

Xolo is providing you with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean. That is something we are going to see more often in new phones as the newer Android version is v4.3 and soon to be v4.4 KitKat. The user interface is not tweaked, it is true to the Andorid set up and pretty basic. There is nothing exciting on this front of the Xolo A500S.

I am so excited to tell you that Xolo A500S is a top performer. It has a whooping fast Dual Core 1.2 GHz processor optimized to give you a long lasting “Android” performance. The processor is by Mediatek. The RAM onboard is 512MB sufficient for things you would want to try with this smartphone. On top of that they are providing you v3.0 Bluetooth technology for file sharing. This is some impressive stuff.

Final Thoughts

If I was tight on budget say Rs 12,000 I would still buy this phone for what it has. When you use it you will know it what makes it so amazing. A decent camera, great built, brilliant performance and a low price. These are the ingredients for the perfect smartphone.

Xolo A500S comes for Rs. 6999
