Xolo A500S Lite Review

A super Xolo phone has got a younger lighter version. Xolo just came up with the Xolo A500S Lite. This phone is the smaller version of the Xolo A500S as the name suggests. It is a brilliantly affordable and a quality smartphone for your hands. Dig deeper and see if you are interested in this piece.

The initial design and layout of the phone is very similar to the Xolo A500S just smaller. But, Xolo A500S Lite does have a very different feel to it. Just like the Note 3, Xolo has stitched a cloth on the back of a flexible plastic panel. Xolo A500S Lite easily gives you a very smooth and firm feel to your hands. It is really comfortable and seems to be likeable. Xolo has done a lot of good here, the smaller size makes it easier to be wrapped in your hands and way better at being portable.

A smaller phone means a smaller display. Xolo A500S Lite has a 4 inch 480×800 pixel display. If this were a 4.7 or even a 4.5 inch display, that resolution would have been “bleh”. Hence the smaller size works well for this resolution and Xolo delivers on the colour presentation as well. Xolo A500S Lite’s display has just the right amount of saturation and warmth. Even the detailing is spot on. It is not overly sharp. Just a really comfortable display to look at.

The camera side is a little bit disappointing. Xolo A500S Lite has a 3MP camera for the back and a VGA for the front. No matter how good your camera can take the photo, 3MP will create noise and a lot of it in the low lighting. The photos look fair. They are not the best or worst at anything but it does have the restricted resolution to blame and smaller sensor for the noise. The front camera is just there for the sake of having a front camera, no one is going to see anything you click from it anyway.

Software and Performance

Xolo A500S Lite runs on the v4.4.2 KitKat Android OS. It draws power from the Mediatek 1.3GHz Dual Core processor along with 512MB RAM. All this accounts for the nice and smooth response of Xolo A500S Lite. It does lag a tad here and there while opening apps or multitasking. Internally, the phone supports 4GB of storage which can go as much as 32GB. The smaller battery forces you to get this thing charging up once each 24 hours. If you had a busy time with it, then 2 times a day.
