Since the first Apple iPad, the tablets have grown to generate a significant amount of money in the electronics sector. Tablets give you the best ever reading experience and such interactive apps that you cannot get your minds off them. 7-8 inch standard tablets are more portable and give you more of a book reading experience. Based on our testing in the 2013, we bring you the top 5 tablets 7-8- inches that we thought ruled in 2013.

5. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0
I had a bad, bad experience with Tab 2. The built quality and design was terrible and the OS tended to lag a bit too much over a point of time. It was not a good tablet in anyway and I would rate that as the worst failure of Samsung till date. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 though is built on a much better plastic and the design is really amazing. It does not seem fragile and the close bezels look good. It is surely been optimized for a better performance but again lag is something you can associate with Samsung. The Display looks beautiful on the Tab 3 and the camera is decent as well.

4. Google Nexus 7 2012 Edition

This is not that old of a tablet and it came to Indian market only in 2013. Google Nexus 7 2012 has one of the best built on a 7 inch tablet behind the iPad Mini of course. It features the v4.2 Jelly Bean OS, a 720p beautifully amazing 7 inch display and a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor. You also get NFC on board and believe me it will be very handy in the coming future. The Nexus 7 2012 is easily portable and reading experience on the HD display is simply amazing and so is gaming.

3. Lenovo Yoga 8 Tablet

Like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, this one has an 8 inch display. The display is really wonderful with a resolution of 800×1280 pixels. What gave this the “Yoga” tag is the ability to bend and tilt it anyway to suit your viewing angles. It really is incredible. The design and built quality is simply amazing. Lenovo Yoga 8 has this really slim and sleek design and it feels really premium in your hands. This one runs on the v4.2 Jelly Bean as well.

2. Google Nexus 7 2013 Edition

Google nexus 7 2013
Oh this was supposed to be the best tablet but our number 1 is well simply the best. Google Nexus 7 2013 is manufactured by Asus along with Google. It has one of the best design behind Apple’s iPad Mini in the 7-8 inch tablet category. Nexus 7 2013 has really close bezels which make it look a class apart and also give you the ability to hold it with one hand without a problem. With a German audio company they were able to give you a surround sound kind of speakers. The display is FULL HD. It is really sharp and I don’t think you could ask for more from Google Nexus 7 2013 Edition.

1. Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display

iPad Mini Retina
It is kind of a no brainer that the best design and built quality is coming from an Apple device. Looking at last year’s iPad Mini only one thing was missing- THE RETINA DISPLAY. This is the most beautiful and the most stunning display to have across any platform. Pixilation was never known to it, being less than perfect was never in it’s dictionary. It has a wonderful colour balance the detailing is really sharp. Lag is also one thing Apple’s iPad Mini with Retina Display does not know. Just holding it makes you fall in love to it. The touch response is super smooth and with the flat design of iOS 7 there is nothing more I can ask for.
