Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review

FIND YOUR FAVORITE GADGET ON FLIPKART

Sony had recently announced the new Sony Xperia Z1Compact at the CES 2014 in Vegas. It certainly looked like a promising phone and now it has released in India. We had the chance to get our hands on it and hence to tell you if this phone is worth the money or not. Spoiler Alert: It surely is.

Design

Sony makes beautiful phones. Sony, Apple and HTC are just tearing each other for the top spot in design. Sony Xperia Z1Compact comes as a phone with a very decent dimensions. The relatively smaller display size makes you fit the phone in your hands comfortably. Sony Xperia Z1Compact has a very high quality glass built that certainly feels premium but is not as soothing as a soft touch back. I really love holding this phone and if you want to show off your phone, this is a good choice.

Display

This is one of the denser displays you will come across. Sony Xperia Z1Compact comes with a 4.3 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display which has a 1280×720 pixel resolution and in layman words it is a 720p HD display. It is quiet dense in pixel density compared to many full HD 5 inch displays. Sony Xperia Z1Compact’s display has set the bar in display quality. The display has excellent viewing angles. Even the colours come out pretty good and overall an exceptional display.

Camera

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
In every way this phone is a smaller version of the successful Xperia Z1 without any compromise. Sony Xperia Z1Compact has a similar 20.1 MP camera. The camera takes some colourful photos and sometimes they tend to be too colourful and too bright. The dynamic HDR mode does really well and the UI is actually able to pick up in what setting you need it and when you do not. You can completely turn it on or off. Sony Xperia Z1Compact’s video taking quality is exceptional. The colour balance is perfect and the clarity is just one of the best there is.

Software

Sony Xperia Z1 compact
Sony Xperia Z1Compact runs over the Android v4.3 Jelly Bean and their own user interface over this Jelly Bean OS. V4.3 is actually the first OS of Android that can give you actual authentic 1080p streaming, too bad you have a 720p but for this price- it is pretty perfect.

Performance

For this price, this is the faster phone by a mile. With 2.2 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 800 processor, this phone is freaking fast and the good support by the RAM makes it an efficient multitasking pad. Sony Xperia Z1Compact has 8GB internal memory with 64GB expandable allowed. It has a decent battery backup which takes you with more one and half days without exhausting.

Passion and Inspiration drives my life and I get them both from technology. Getting to write about it is an absolute bliss. The bliss comes from people reading what you want to convey. There is nothing better for a person than his views to be heard. I am a music, tv shows, movies and technological enthusiast.
