Sony Xperia Z Tablet Review

Sony has inducted a 10 inch tablet to their name recently. It lives on the zero gap casing of Sony Xperia Z, the smartphone which enables Sony Xperia Z Tablet having the capabilities of being water resistant and dust proof. The design on the Sony Xperia Z tablet is simply stunning. It makes you want it. Surely a thing of beauty.

Sony Xperia Z Tablet comes with the hard zero gaps casing that featured on the Xperia Z smartphone. It not only gives it the solid built and classy looks but also gives it the property of resisting water and being dust proof. People have actually started to text in the shower, weird. The tablet is really slim with just 6.9mm of thickness. The structure is that of a perfectly crafted rectangle with all sharp edges and flat surface. It comes in two colours: White and Black.

This 10 inch tablet has a full HD display with a resolution of 1200×1920 pixels. The colours look really good on the Sony Xperia Z Tablet. The icons are really well detailed and look really nice. It also has definite viewing angles. But due to increased glare you might not be able to view it properly under direct sunlight. It can take input from all the 10 fingers as it supports multitouch which has a wide usage in variety of apps. With the GPU and Sony Bravia Engine the graphics while game look terrific. Reading a book is also redefined and really cool.

Sony has taken the tablet camera forte pretty seriously. They have provided this giant of a tablet with a beautiful 8.1MP primary camera. We beg to state that it is actually even better than the Xperia Z Smartphone lens. Images look very clear and under great detail. It has a nice colour balance with good intelligent contrast. The front 2.2MP camera is one of the best on a tablet; with wide angle of capture- the camera does an amazing job in video calling. Both the primary can secondary cameras are capable of 1080p full HD video.

Sony Xperia Z Tablet runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean version with update but out of the box it comes with Android v4.1 Jelly Bean. Dedicated apps for tablets on Google Play are really cool and an absolute keeper. The overall user interface is the standard one that you find on all the tablets. Multitasking functionality are pretty cool.

With the power of a Quad Core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 2GB of RAM the tablet performs lightning fast with the occasional break down (which Android device does not?). The touch response is really good and it multitasks without any failure. It comes with 16GB of internal memory but you can expand it to upto 64GB using microSD cards. It supports LTE networks apart from 2G and 3G wavebands. It also features NFC sharing and pairing.

Final Thoughts

Sony Xperia Z tablet has got both the power and the looks. But the price is a little too much. The display is really awesome and entertainment is an absolute bliss on such a big full HD display in your hands. Camera, battery life- everything is great. We do not highly recommend you buy this because its priced a little too much.

Sony Xperia Z tablet comes for Rs. 41999
