Samsung is giving more stress low-range handset, to make its capital and creating a strong position in the field of low-range phones. Samsung put forward its new handset Samsung Galaxy Y   implies   “YOUNG”. The handset comprises of low specifications and you can’t expect more from it. The device is perfect in shape and feels good in your hand. The screen of the device is 3 inches and provides you the resolution of 320×240. The best part of this handset is that it runs on Android software. Android provides you different experiences. Samsung Y is powered with the processor of 832MHz and helps the user for fast accessing. Perfect camera of 2 MP helps you to capture image and makes your life easy.

Samsung Galaxy Y comprises of best designing to feel comfortable in hand as well in pocket. The external look of the device is made attractive with its 104x58x11.5mm dimensions. The plastic body of the device makes it different and protect you device from damage with few falls. The look of the device you have seen in other Samsung’s Galaxies. The back of the device is made round to make it more comfortable and made little low weighted and only weights 97.5 gms and slim in shape. The back plastic panel of the device is comprises of 2 MP camera and a speaker. Below the back panel the space is provided for removable battery and SIM card slot. On the left side of the device a volume rocker and to the right the power buttons make you easy and comfortable in handling.  To the top the device the 3.5mm jack and USB port connection is provided. The front panel of the device comprises of 3 inch of TFT screen capable to give you 240×320 resolutions. The screen is of fully capacitive touch with capacitive touch buttons like Back, Menu. The screen of the device is not up to the mark up it’s just an average the device lack viewing angle, on changing the viewing to little degree the image softens. The device is quite good in hardware.

Samsung Galaxy Y offers you a quality camera of 2 Mega Pixels. The primary camera of 2 MP is capable to capture the image up to 1600 x 1200 resolutions. The camera is just an average and is not up to the mark of the camera of 5 MP in latest Android devices. Capturing images will be impossible in dark because handset lacks in the LED flash.  No auto focus, no tab is provided by the device. The camera is just an average and catches just simple images. Digital zoom is one of its features to capture long distance images. The camera struggles to balance the lighter and darker areas. Some additional features ia also embedded in the device like single shot, smile shots and panorama.  Panorama allows to stiches 8 images at a time. Many pre-installed application are embedded in this device to make it a good photography phone. Video recording is also one of the option preferred by the device and can record HD videos. Galaxy Y lacks in front facing camera, so no option for video calling.



Samsung Galaxy Y is powered with processor of 832 MHz. the processor of the device is capable to run to it faster and flawless. However the processor some time slowdowns on hi –res games. The RAM provided by the device is 512 MB; these much RAM helps the user to do multi-tasking operations and makes your device a multi-functional. Phone runs on the operating system of old Android 2.3.6 Ginger Bread. You cannot expect more from it, and it is enhanced by Samsung’s TouchWiz which offers you up to seven pages to fill you widgets and icons. The processor of the device is perfect to run the good resolution videos.


Samsung Y is fully loaded with connectivity features, the connectivity features of the phone is fabulous. Galaxy Y brings a quad band technology. The device is fully supported by 3 G network and provides you great speed of internet. Phone supports GSM network and provide HSDPA (up to 7.2Mbps). Wireless connectivity can also be done with its latest Wi-Fi. For quick transfer of multimedia files the device grant you Bluetooth 3.0 and USB ports. The device provides you new experience on connectivity.



Samsung Galaxy Y powered with the battery of 1200mAH, the battery of device is not enough to last along a day. It needs some charging to run long. The battery of the device drains till 10 hours. Many on screen battery saving modes are also provided to last the battery long. The battery is pretty poor for 3 inches of screen. The internal memory provided by this device is 160MB and capable to expand up to 32 GB.

Samsung Galaxy Y is a low range handset and comprises of old downgraded features. No new applications are given. Some features that makes pretty good are its flawless processor, RAM, quality camera and designing at the same time some feature that pull it down are its poor battery and screen resolution. Overall this new handset is just an average and will offer you some new experience of touch and android.
