Nokia Lumia 625 Review

The most affordable 4.7 Inch display by a world renowned company is here. The Nokia Lumia 625 comes with a wonderful 4.7 inch display that is not weak even for a less price. It is your Nokia 620 given a larger and much loved display. Most of the things have remained the same as they were on the 620. But the major change apart from the display remains to be the processor. Continue reading and you will know more.

The design principals are taken from Nokia Lumia 620 for its bigger more fashionable model. The built is the same as we saw on the 620 with the solid plastic bodies. The back can be a matte finished body or a glossy one. Both of which are absolutely incredible. It comes in Orange (new), Lime Green, Yellow, Black and White. The volume rockers and the lock/power button are both place around the same area on the right side of the phone. They also have a dedicated camera button much lower below these buttons on the same side.

Well the display is the talking point of this smartphone. Nokia Lumia 625 features a beautiful well lit Clear Black 4.7 inch display. Clear Black technology gives it great black levels and uniform distribution of colors and illumination. Unlike the 620, the 625 has an IPS LCD display and not a TFT and hence better viewing angles. With the 480×800 pixels resolution the media playback is quiet average but the larger display allows you to do more with the smartphone. It is almost an inch more than what we saw on Lumia 620! With windows phone 8, the display looks even sharper and the flat design makes it look more beautiful.

The same lens has made its way on the Nokia Lumia 625 which is on the 620. It takes pretty decent photographs in good lighting conditions but noisy distorted photos when under low light that being said it is does NOT feature a Carl Ziess lens and hence nothing too great. For the Carl Ziess lens the 4.3 inch display of Nokia Lumia 720 is your phone to take. Video recording can be done in full HD 1080p by the primary camera which is 5 mega pixels. Sadly the front camera remains terrible with its VGA technology.

Nokia Lumia 625 comes with the Windows Phone 8 and has got the Windows Phone 8 Amber update. Everything is the same from design to the way you use it but the selling point is the induction of Nokia Smart Lens that features on the higher end Carl Ziess lens Lumia phones. With that you can choose the motion shots and tweak with the camera. When the first wave of WP8 phones released it was so-so with the app market but now its building and has a large audience. WP8 is better with dedicated apps by Nokia something that is missing on the HTC WP8 models.

They have upgraded the processor from a Dual Core 1 GHz to a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon one. It is much faster not because of the 0.2 more but with better processor optimization. No upgrade on RAM which remains the same- 512MB. The phone can be ruled out from the speculations of lag not because of the processor or RAM because WP8 Mobile OS is what it is. It responds nice and fast with good user experience. The phone comes with 8GB of internal memory with expansion to upto 64GB. It does not feature the NFC but has Bluetooth and micro USB for sharing and pairing.

Final Thoughts

Nokia Lumia 625 is a significant development over Lumia 620. The larger display allows you to do more and the more optimized processor gives you a better user experience. Now you can do more with the camera from the Amber WP8 update. Love it, because it surely will love you.
