Today, we compare two smartphone of exactly the same price but from different ecosystem. The Nokia Lumia 1320 vs The Sony Xperia SP. Both are really quality and powerful phones. The former comes with Windows Phone 8 and the latter with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean. They are both marked exactly at 21000 INR, so let’s see which one is better for that much money.
Sony Xperia SP brings you the best of Sony’s design and trademark built quality to this phone. It has a very Xperia Z type design which is very flat on the edges and the body looks really great and certainly feels great in your hands. Nokia Lumia 1320 comes with the amazing matte feel and really slim design. The phone is actually quite large, as it is a phablet so it might be a problem to carry it around. And, personally for me the nice glass built on the SP feels better than Nokia Lumia 1320’s matte or polycarbonate (depending on colour) built. Design: Sony Xperia SP.
We have two very different displays here. And I cannot choose a winner for this because this is pretty personal. On one hand Nokia Lumia 1320 has a much larger 6.0 inch display with a lot less pixel density than Sony Xperia SP’s much smaller 4.6 inch display which obviously packs the pixels much closer. But given to judge the display, I certainly prefer Nokia Lumia 1320’s display because of the flat design of WP and of course the consistency of colour and black levels is better on the Lumia.
Sony Xperia SP has a much better camera. For starters the camera has a bigger sensor: 8MP whereas the Nokia Lumia 1320 comes with 5MP camera. But that is not the point. The Xperia takes some beautiful photos. You can see the colours being very under saturated on the Lumia 1320. On the other hand you can just see how great Xperia’s photographs look. Like I said at the start, these phones come from completely different background. Sony Xperia SP is an Android phone and Nokia Lumia 1320 is a Windows Phone. Given their features, I would certainly put my money on Xperia SP because I get a lot more freedom with Google’s Android. The play store is a lot more diverse than Windows Phone 8’s store. Software: Sony Xperia SP.
They are more or less identical when it comes to performance. Both the phones come with 1GB RAM and Snapdragon S4 Processor which is a 1.7GHz Dual Core processor. They both come with 8GB of internal memory expandable to 32GB but Xperia SP has a much better battery backup. Performance: Sony Xperia SP.
