Nokia Asha 210 Review

The new wave of Nokia Asha phones is awesome. They provide you a reasonable price and good performance. For the consumers who cannot really afford the luxury of a high end smartphone, these phones have been able to provide good experience. The features don’t stand out, nothing does but for the cost it is pretty satisfactory.

Nokia Asha 210 is made out of plastic which is pretty solid and feels nice in hands. The structure is very normal and sticks to the basics. The back stays flat and because of small size fits comfortably in your hands. Over all built quality is pretty nice and keeps up to the Nokia standard. Nokia has made a Whatsapp button so that you can pull that from anywhere in the phone to check messages. Speakers give loud but clear and high quality sound. It is not a touchscreen phone, it uses the qwerty keypad functioning. The keys are a little small and will take some time to get used to. The phone is available in Yellow, Black, White, Cyan, Magenta colours.

Nokia Asha 210 Display
This is not a smartphone nor a touch screen phone so don’t care too much about how it looks but anyway the small 2.4 inches TFT display is pretty nice. Thanks to the clean and clear OS everything on the display looks rich and really colourful. They have got the balance right and that is for sure. It is not a full colourscale but 65K colours. The display has a pixel density of 167 ppi yet it is really sharp.

Though everything about this phone is okay, the camera is really of bad. The 2MP camera takes extremely noisy shots. Video recording though there, don’t even bother doing so because when you review it you might fall into thinking you got some alien footage instead. The microphone that records voice during video recording is really bad too. Overall the camera- not even appropriate if you sole purpose is just uploading shots on social network.

Nokia Asha 210 runs on the Symbian OS (Series 40 version). Though the Series 40 is really old, the software running on this is the tweaked, more modern version of the Symbian Series 40 OS. When you are looking for an Asha you really are not thinking applications but if you are, you would be disappointed. This OS has the very basic social networking apps and certain games but it stands nowhere against the app market built by the giants- Android, iOS and now WP.

Performance and Memory

As we said this is not a conventional smart phone hence we won’t judge it like one. Nokia Asha 210 along with Series 40 Symbian OS does a very decent job in handling tasks and making your day to day use of the phone smooth. Along with the nice display and decent performance, the battery life is nice too- with 13h of talktime and over 1000h of standby. The expandable memory is 32GB but if you go that far, your phone might just be non-functional.

Final Thoughts

Nokia Asha 210 is the perfect phone if you are thinking low price and a nice, quality performance. For you text junkies this is pretty great and it also has Wi-Fi if you don’t wish to have a net pack. The battery performance is brilliant and that is more than crucial when selecting a general phone. Bluetooth functionality is present for you to pair devices or share files. It is worth the money you give.
