Nexus 4

Google has been producing its own line of flagship phones. They are name Nexus. The latest addition to their line is the Nexus 4 produced by LG. The Nexus 4 is a thing of beauty. It is so beautiful to hold, looks expensive and feels premium in your hands. The display is amazing; the camera is great and just every other thing about this. Google has really gone out and enhance everything they could about Android and put it in their own flagship with their own user interface. It is just stunning.

Google Nexus 4 Design
So the Google-LG Nexus 4 feels really amazing in your hands. The built quality is just superb. But if you are an Apple user, it does not really match up to that aluminium mark. The back casing is kind of a glass and the edges, made of a kind of rubber and has a matte like finish. The phone curves not from the corners but the whole top and bottom and finishes with razor sharp edges on the back. It is quiet heavy for its size weighing about 139g. It does not feel bad in your pocket. It scales roughly around 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1 mm (5.27 x 2.70 x 0.36 in). The phone is available in 2 colours: Black and White.

Google Nexus 4 Jelly Bean Android
What separates Nexus 4 from other Android device is that it is produced by Google themselves. It is a dive into a complete different interface. The operating system on this phone is Android v4.3 Jelly Bean and there are rumours that it might round up to get the v4.3 update which is around the corner and might see its release along with Android v5.0 Key Lime Pie. The whole android experience on the Nexus 4 is different. The way you customize, the way you get your notifications, the keyboard and basically the whole interface is totally different. You get better ways of doing things, from unlocking the phone to browsing to screen shots to video editing to everything and anything. Android v4.2 Jelly Bean brings on lots of improvement over the previous versions. It also is very smooth and betters the battery performance when your phone gets an update from 4.1 to 4.2.

Google Nexus 4 Camera

Google LG Nexus 4 really has a beautiful camera. It carries an 8MP sensor on its primary front and a 1.3MP sensor on the secondary. The images it captures are absolutely amazing. They are really wonderful to look it. It captures the colours that you are trying to capture but it is not very precisely to that exact shade, but really closes onto the brightness and saturation levels. The images are captured in 3264×2448 pixels. You get LED Flash, autofocus, touch to focus, face detection and lots more. Thanks to Android it brings you the cool photo sphere that is best at organizing the photos you take and you can do a whole bunch of stuff with them. It is really cool. This Google flagship is capable of capturing videos in full HD 1080p quality. It really captures smooth video, very soothing to look at in terms of quality. The microphone also does a good job at capturing the sound in the video.

Google Nexus 4 Display

Nexus 4 has one of the most beautiful displays ever on a smartphone. It carries a true HD IPS plus capacitive touchscreen display. It shows you all the 16 million colours. Nexus 4 comes with a high resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. The display scales about 4.7 inches with 312ppi pixel density. The display has very accurate blacks and the uniformity of colour display is absolutely magnificent. With the huge size, the entertainment on this phone gives you an amazing experience. Watch full HD movies for 2 hours and you won’t get tired. It just looks absolutely amazing and the images flow so smooth on the Nexus 4 it’s like watching an HD television. Viewing angles on this phone are also good. Not like you are actually going to turn it and see but yeah, pretty amazing.

Google Nexus 4 Performance
This smartphones is a class performer. One of the few Android devices that actually work as smooth as the specs sheet says. It fancies a Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon Quad Core 1.5GHz chip. It is fast, really very fast. To help this power there is 2 giga bytes of RAM on board. Together they work in harmony and make one of the best task force there is on a smartphone. The experience on a Nexus 4 is really more than very good, it iss exceptional. It responds really fast. It gives you about 390h of standby and 15h of talk time on 3G, which is quiet nice.

Nexus 4 comes with 2 options of internal storages- the 8GB and the 16GB with no expandable options. This might come as a blow to most of the people. Frankly, a 16GB and 32 GB option would have been much better if they had decided not to put up an external card slot. Nexus 4 has NFC and Bluetooth v4.0. You can also use the microUSB for usual syncing. It supports only 2G and 3G and no 4G LTE.

Final Thought

The Google Nexus 4 produced by LG is an amazing phone. For Android fans it will be an absolute bliss to own something of a device like this. It is really different from Android devices you have already used. It does not have any sort of fancy features like Samsung phones but then it costs much “much” less than Samsung S4 or the SIII. It is a brilliant phone from ground up from its built to its performance. But if you are going to travel a lot and want movies on your phones- tons of them then it just lacks the memory. Otherwise you are good to get one of these.

Nexus 4 comes for Rs. 25,000.
