These two smartphones are from different mobile ecosystems but they work tremendously well and are super affordable. Nokia Lumia 630 is the budget smartphone on the Windows Phone 8.1 and Motorola Moto E on the ecosystem already having a stream of budget smartphones- Android. Let see which one emerges on top.

Design

Motorola Moto E is slightly smaller than the Nokia Lumia 630. Both are of that size bracket that fits your hand easily. Both are made of the rubbery matte built that grips your hand in the best way possible and gives you a nice soft touch. I would say the Moto E is better curved and hence fits the hand more comfortably and naturally than the relatively flatter back of the Nokia Lumia 630. I would give this to the Motorola Moto E. Design: Motorola Moto E.

Display

The Nokia Lumia 630 has a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels and the Moto E has a 4.3 inch display with a higher resolution of 540×960 pixels. Hence the Motorola Moto E is denser and you can actually make out the difference in the two. In the Nokia Lumia 630’s display you can see pixilation which is not the best thing on any smartphone. Moto E is so much cleaner and gives you great bright colours and with sharp detailing. Display: Motorola Moto E.

Camera

Both these phones have a 5MP sensor but again they take photos so differently that it is easy to give this off as well. Motorola Moto E has a great camera for a budget smartphone. There is some noise when not under broad daylight but the overall detailing and colours are nothing short of beautiful. Nokia Lumia 630 takes dull and colder tone shots. Both these phones do not have the front camera. The Nokia Lumia 630’s interface lets you do more but the results are just not that good.

Software

Motorola Moto E works on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS and the Nokia Lumia 630 with the Windows Phone 8.1. Both the phones have a great interface and have their share of useful features to offer. Nokia Lumia 630 has certain third party apps by Nokia that just boosts the Windows Phone 8.1 experience. But the Moto E’s clean Android interface which is highly customizable. I would call this a tie.

Performance

Nokia Lumia 630 knocks off the socks off Motorola Moto E. The 630 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and the Moto E has a slower and older Snapdragon 200 processor. On the contrary for RAM the 1GB RAM is on the Moto E and the Lumia 630 has 512MB of RAM. But easily the Lumia 630 has the better and faster performance. The battery performance of the Moto E is much better. Nokia Lumia 630 has 8GB internal memory expandable to up to 128GB and Moto E has a lower 4GB internal memory expandable to only 32GB. Performance: Nokia Lumia 630.

Overall Winner: Motorola Moto E
