Micromax Funbook 3G

Micromax has taken their first Funbook tablet and magnified it in every bit. They did so to optimize performance (yet not it is so good, if you know what I mean) which was solely needed. They have finally introduced SIM slots to make it a tad more useful. Quality is also an iota better but needs a lot of improvement. That been said even the customer service needs to be better.

Design
Micromax Fun Book 3G P560 is a very standard tablet in looks. It does not come out as something very fancy, its Micromax. The corners are very slightly curved. The flat back which is totally flat will give you problems holding it. It is easily portable but not bliss when you use it. This Funbook is pretty light, weighs just about 320 grams. It just comes in black so if you wished for something wow, it’s not so good. The built is still that cheap kind of plastic we are familiar of on the Micromax tablets.
Display
The display remains more or less really pathetic. Highly pixilated and if you use an awesome smartphone or no so awesome (let’s put the bar for not so awesome at Samsung Galaxy Star) then you will just want to avoid this display. This 7 inch display carries a resolution of 480×800 pixels, giving it a pixel density of 132ppi. The video playback is satisfactory and wont blow your mind. I have been doing a lot of duration of game play on this and I feel like throwing it away. I tried to carry it out a bit more to form an unbiased opinion but I just can’t because it really is “bad”.
Camera
Thank god it atleast has a front camera. Actually it has both. Both are really bad at taking images but that is a different story. So the front facing camera enables you to make video calls, the VGA sensor carries out pretty average performance. Images taken by it- quality- I would rather not say (it is “that” terrible). The primary/rear camera is much better in taking images compared to the front facing but still not good enough. They need to step up a notch on tablets front. Even the user interface that carries out this stuff is really bad.
Software
Out of the box you get the Android v.4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich running on the Micromax Funbook 3G. The user interface is just like any other minus the “awesome”. No out of the features are staged on this tablet. It is easy to use, yet boring to go through every day. Google Play has tons of app, get them and use this tablet for one of the worse tablet experiences of your life.
Performance
A single core 1GHz processor is fueling the processes on this phone. But it needs a lot more punch in its optimization to make it work properly because it lags too much. it comes with 2.5GB of internal memory expandable to upto 32GB via microSD cards. Bluetooth connectivity is available. 3G enabled and so is Wi-Fi.
Final Thoughts
DON’T BUY IT. It is not what you want. Alternatives: Asus Memo Pad, Asus Padfone, HCL ME Tab.
Mircomax Funbook 3G comes for Rs. 6700
