With Motorola getting ready to launch the Moto E 2nd Gen, the Micromax is all set to launch a new phone which is a competitor of Moto E in every possible way. The model is named as Canvas Xpress and is to be released on the 8th of December at a price of Rs. 6,999 and that too exclusively on Flipkart with two color variants i.e. electric blue and classy silver.
The all new Canvas Xpress has an FWVGA display of 4.5 inches but with an 854×480 resolution. The phone runs on Android KitKat (4.4.2) and no news about the update has been confirmed by the officials. The name of the processor has not specified although it is positive that a 1.3 GHz quad processor will be used with 1GB of RAM.
The device has a 5MP rear camera with Flash and also a front camera of 0.3MP. However the internal storage or user available memory has not been declared yet but a micro-SD slot is provided in this device which supports up to 32GB. A battery of 1950 mAh is used to power the Canvas Xpress. This Canvas Xpress has a dual sim slot and both of which support 3G; the Wi-Fi enabled device also has Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity.
The features which are going to make this device stand amidst the other devices are HotKnot and SmartWake. HotKnot is more like a variant of the traditional NFC which allows the user to transfer data with a single touch. SmartWake, must be quite obvious from the name, allows the users to open selected app with the help of some customized gestures directly from the lock screen.
With Micromax dominating Indian market with their budget smartphones, let’s see how the consumers response to this one.
