Micromax Canvas 4 A210 Review

With the release of Micromax Canvas 4 A210, Micromax just stepped up a notch on the quality of their phones from built to the way it should work i.e. in terms of performance of the smart phone. With the phone you get flat wires that cannot tangle with each other. The ear phones are of pretty awesome quality without a doubt. The 720p HD display on the Micromax is the best we have seen so far. Micromax Canvas 4 A210 comes with Android v.4.2.1 Jelly Bean and their simple UI just like most of the Android phones. Micromax Canvas 4 A210 has the best built we have seen in a Micromax smart phone till date.

As we said above earlier, Micromax A210 Canvas 4 is the best built smart phone by Micromax by far. It has a brilliant finish, the back panel has a very smooth HTC Desire kind of a finish, and it is plastic but real high quality and very smooth. It just feels amazing in your hands. The phone has the perfect seamless curves on the corners and around the edges at the back. On the back you have the primary camera, noise cancelation microphone and the main speaker. Again, why would someone place their speakers at the back? It subsidises the noise and it’s just bad. On the top you have the 3.5 mm headphone jack, to the right edge- lock button and on the left edge- volume rockers. The microUSB slot is placed at the bottom. It is a dual-SIM phone and holds a 2000mAh battery. The phone comes in two basic colours- Grey and White. Really the design overall is just awesome no reason this phone won’t catch an eye.

A lot of Micromax’s engineering time goes into creating better displays and with so much work in so much time they have managed to put up one of the best 720p HD displays that we have seen. Micromax Canvas 4 A210 has a 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display which is a full colour scale 16M colour display. It has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels hence making it a 720p HD display. Vibrancy in colours started to reflect right from the Micromax Canvas 2 A110 and it has improved a lot since then. They still have a long way to go but the colours look very good on this phone and with the Micromax’s own HD wallpapers you can see how great the display actually looks. As it is an IPS LCD display you have wide angle view without a problem. The pixel density is about 294ppi making the screen pretty dense and well yeah-pretty. Video playback of full HD content is nice and so is the gaming graphics with the GPU inbuilt chip. The display is crazy amazing one another reason as to why you should buy this phone.

As crazy as it might sound but Micromax has incorporated a 5MP camera…………on the front of this beautiful new Micromax Canvas 4 A210! Yeah. The primary camera is a 13MP one that takes pretty awesome photographs in good light conditions. The sensor on the primary front is larger than ever hence getting more light and better low light performance as well. The 13MP camera also comes with LED flash for night shots and also a dedicated night mode that will tweak the photo, reduce the noise and portray the best of the image. You get to change the ISO settings, you also have the HDR mode and can also take a panorama. The sensor can detect faces and as well as smiles. The different modes do come in handy to give you the best possible photograph. The 13MP camera is capable of taking full HD 1080p quality video and the front facing camera -720p HD video.

Micromax Canvas 4 A210 runs on the Android v.4.2.1 Jelly Bean and Micromax’s own UI. The android operating systems gives the perfect background both for the user and the developer. Android is here to stay and soon the v4.3 is coming and so is the Android v5.0 Key lime pie. So Mircomax has quiet many applications that they have provided for the phone as well as certain Google’s trademark apps. Google Play store has a lot of applications available for free, so with this phone you do get to have your hands on them. Do try the flipboard app if you like to read (just a suggestion, I hope that’s allowed boss). Will this phone get further updates? No. This is it. The UI is fairly light and easy for the user to get his head around, it has all the necessities of an Android phone.

Performance and Memory

Micromax sticks to Mediatek for their processors; Micromax Canvas 4 A210 has a 1.2GHz Quad Core Cortex-A7 MTK processor. There is 1GB RAM on board. Together both of them work in great harmony to provide you the best performance it can with good amount of multitasking as well. Unlike the old Micromax phones, apps on this phone won’t crash out for any apparent reason. Switching to camera and back is also very smooth but we still beg for dedicated camera buttons. Micromax Canvas 4 has 16 GB of internal memory, kudos many of you won’t need external memory cards even though they don’t cost much. Also, thanks to the large internal memory the phone won’t slow down as much as it would if you put the microSD cards. Though, with the microSD cards you can expand the memory to as much as 32GB. It supports EDGE,GPRS and 3G networks. It has the latest Bluetooth v4.0 and microUSB cable.

Final Thoughts

Micromax Canvas 4 A210 is a brilliant smart phone you can own for a very reasonable cost for this specifications set. The display is so much better than before, there is a faster processor, the quality of built has been exceeded by a huge margin and hence the best looking and built Micromax phone till date. It has a good amount of internal memory and you can also expand it. Micromax Canvas 4 is really cool, you gotta own one.
