LG surely makes you say- Life’s Good. With the release of LG Optimus G, you are going to say this every time you pick this phone up. This phone has power and it has got the looks without a doubt. LG Optimus G was one of the last ones to have the high quality recast polycarbonate body after which LG has inducted the amazingly smooth feeling metal finish to their series of LG phones. This phone has a Quad Core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 2GB RAM- info for those of you who believe in numbers. It also has a high end 8 MP camera which takes wonderful photographs. Well there is a lot more to this phone, to know about it well in detail keep on reading.

Design

LG Optimus G the younger sibling to the LG Optimus G Pro has the old polycarbonate body that just feels stunning in your hands. With a length of 131mm this phone is quiet large to get your hands on it easily. This phone has a more rectangular sharp design though it is very minutely curved around the corners. The lock/power button is to the left edge and the volume rocker is placed to the right edge of the smart phone. The screen also looks of top quality and it is not very glossy and hence less of reflections off it when under the sun. Overall dimensions of this phone are 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.5 mm (5.19 x 2.71 x 0.33 in) oh yeah it is just 8.5mm thin which makes it really very slim to fit in your pockets. LG Optimus G also has a decent weigh to it- 145g and with the overall dimensions and this, you feel really comfortable carrying it around. The smart phone has the usual 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB slot. LG Optimus G is available in black and white.

Display

Displays on the LG smartphones have always been good for the specific price tags. LG Optimus Ghas a 4.7 inch display. It just looks stunning, it is right there with the beautiful displays on the HTC One X+ or the Lumia 920. It comes with a resolution of 768×1280 pixels hence making it a HD screen. There were times when you used to get HD TVs just few years back and now you get them on your phone too, got to love technology huh? The colours on the phone are really wonderful, they look vibrant and clear. Full HD content be it video or image will please your eyes very much. The larger display reduces eye fatigue and also gives a different dimension to use your smartphone. LG Optimus G has a pixel density of about 318ppi therefore even on paper you know how dense the display is and how beautiful it looks. The type of display on the LG Optimus G is a True HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touch display (well you get the idea right?).

Camera

LG Optimus G has a 13MP camera and if you are in a different region of the world the LG Optimus G might even ship with an 8MP camera which seems to be pretty weird. But lucky for us, we live in that part where we got our hands on the 13MP model. The secondary camera has a 1.3MP sensor. LG Optimus G’s primary camera takes the photographs in very high resolution. The colours and contrast have the perfect balance in images taken in good condition. It is not a good camera for low light photographs as they look a little bit noisy and under detailed. LG Optimus G can take full HD 1080p video from its back camera and 720p video from the front. You get to play with the settings to make the best of shots from the camera given a specific condition. HDR mode is available in the LG Optimus G.

Software

LG uses its own user interface which works with the Android v.4.1.2 Jelly Bean mobile operating system to give you the a fresh and simple mobile smart phone experience. Like all the other Android devices you have standard things accessible from the lock screen too like the messages, phone, camera etc. Android gives you lots of options in terms of apps that you can download then interact and pass time. The user interface has not gone too non Android but it’s is not like the others too. The smart phone offers lots of widgets to choose from and put for daily info. LG Optimus G has the best tech ecosystem like on most high end mobile phones.

Performance and Memory

LG Optimus G has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. Well in case you are not aware that is a lot! if you don’t have a good enough RAM then this might just backfire to you as the cache speed of this processor is high as well. But you can thank god no sorry thank LG, this phone has 2GB of RAM on board. The processor and the RAM work along really well and provide a less lag world in Android. The touch response is pretty standard and works really well on this smart phone. LG Optimus G has 32GB of internal memory. The memory cannot be further expanded. The smart phone also has the latest version of Bluetooth i.e. the v 4.0, micro USB and also NFC. The battery can sustain up to 411h of standby and 13h of talktime on 3G.

Final Thoughts

LG Optimus G is surely a very good phone. I guess we have talked about it enough- great display, good built, amazing camera, high on performance and Android ecosystem. What more reasons do you need to buy the phone?

LG Optimus G is available for Rs. 36990
