Lenovo P780 Review

Lenovo has managed to chip in another quality phone, Lenovo P780. This one has a 5 inch display and comes with all the good when you consider the hardware. Lenovo’s previous range of phones was really fascinating but it did not sell as much as they would have liked to. It definitely has everything you would want from a phone but people question if they want a smartphone from Lenovo or not, it is funny because Micromax sells their models easier than Lenovo.

You will be familiar with the built, good to see even though they did not sell much they are still providing the nice metallic quality. When you hold the Lenovo P780, you will feel that you got your money worth. This is one of the crucial things in a phone- built quality, and they have nailed that part. The edges are straight around the front but slightly curve around the back. Speakers are really loud but the quality is pretty average as you increase the volume. Overall I am really happy with the structure and the built.

Lenovo P780
The Lenovo P780 has a 5 inch 720p display i.e resolution of 720×1280 pixels and if you can do the math, it gives you a pixel density of 294ppi. The display is really sharp, it is not grainy at all. It has nice tones of colour and it just looks right to the eyes. It is very easy to love this display. Lenovo P780’s display has really good blacks and even the viewing angles seem to be really good. Watching videos is really good on the 720p display. You will really love it.

Smartphone cameras in the mid-range phones vary, some blow your mind and some you just never want to use, the 8MP primary camera on the Lenovo P780 gives you a mixed feeling. In perfect lighting conditions it blows your mind but the occasional shots are so not properly focused that it makes you want to…….let’s not continue speaking. It also has a very average low light performance. Video quality is pretty average but cleaner compared to other mid-range smartphone lenses. The 1.2 MP lens on the front of Lenovo P780 works just fine.

User interface on this smartphone is really natural, nothing you have not seen on other Android phones. On the contrary, it has lesser widgets and customization options (talking purely about the UI). Otherwise it is really clean and easy to get around. It operates on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean. Android’s Google Play Store will provide you all the apps you need.

Media Tek-chipset
Lenovo P780 is a really good phone in terms of speed. It’s MTK 1.2GHz Quad Core Processor and 1GB RAM account for fast and easy multitasking. The response time of every function on board is really commendable. You do not have NFC tech on board, but if you care about sharing and pairing, it does have the v3.0 Bluetooth. The smartphone comes with 8GB of internal memory expandable to up to 32GB. Get ready to be blown- Lenovo P780 gives you 43h of talktime and 800h+ of standby time. This should mean a lot.

Final Thoughts

The great battery life, amazingly beautiful display and a fast processor along with good looks should make this one a whole package for you. I know how a Lenovo smartphone might not be a style statement but if you are spending so much, buy the right phone for yourself. I am sold on this one.

Lenovo P780 comes for Rs. 16999
