Looking at it from a distance, Lava Magnum X604 does not seem like much and when you hold it, it does not seem like much either. First thing Lava should focus on is design and not just go on the basic rectangle in which you can just fill stuff up. Even the build gives you no satisfaction at all. The plastic is chunky and it does not fit right in your hands nor does it fit right.
A little wow from you here. Lava Magnum X604 has a good display. Yeah, a good display. Even though you can see the sharpness and the detailing all being their thanks to the resolution of 720p HD over 6 inches, the colours do not make sense at all. The greens, the reds and the blues are just off their general chart by a long way. You can see the display lagging the actual wow factor that makes others mesmerized by it. Lava Magnum X604 is a good display only because of its clarity, rest all is plain no.
The back camera is an 8MP sensor with the classic budget smartphone camera flaw. The flaw is of taking under saturated photos. This is plain disappointment not on the Lava Magnum X604 but on any other budget smartphone. For what it is, the 8MP camera takes nice crisp and well detailed shots. It can be cumbersome in low light. The shots look nice overall but it does give a dull look because of the under saturation issue.
There is not much to tell about the software as Lava has not included any home features that make this phone an alien device. It just comes on the v4.4.2 KitKat Android OS. The user interface is the usual, widgets with 5 home screens where you can keep app shortcuts.
Lava Magnum X604 runs on a 1.2GHz Quad Core processor and 1GB of RAM. Gaming on this phone was pretty natural. It is only the graphics that trouble me, apart from that, the phone performs brilliantly. It gives you instant response to touch and does not lag much. Lava Magnum X604 can offer you up to 8GB of storage which can be expanded to up to as much as 32GB. With the 2900mAh battery, you get a day’s battery life.
