Lava E-Tab XTRON+ Review

Lava E-Tab XTRON+ is a budget 7 inch tablet by Lava. We will be telling you if you should buy this given what it is and what the market already has-against the other budget tablets. Lava E-Tab accepts a SIM card and also has Wi-Fi so that’s that. There is so much on this but nothing really that stands out to me. It is a very decent tablet meant for a very normal use.

I really feel that the built quality is really nice. It is nice and very smooth, something worth holding. The front looks amazing too, the glass encasing the display is not bad at all. It does catch a lot of dust and fingerprints but you have to deal with it. Though they say that it is scratch resistant it really isn’t so first thing- get a scratch guard. The speakers are really decent, they are not too loud and not of very good quality but yeah decent enough. It comes in silver colour.

The 7 inch display on the Lava E-Tab XTRON+ is really pixelated. It is not as quiet dense in terms of pixel density and does not have that aura to mesmerise that displays do today. The viewing angles are not too great either. With a resolution of just 600×1024 it is not the greatest displays. We are really stunned by the graphics though, even on such an average display the gaming graphics somehow come out pretty nicely. Video playback is average.

Is the camera great? Hell no. Is it good? No way! Is it awful? Yeah you got it right. The 2MP camera on the rear is no good. It produces highly noisy images and pathetic video recording capabilities. The rear camera is a VGA one and yes it is not the best of VGAs either. Only good news here, you have a camera just incase you broke your phone or forgot it home or were stupid enough to think you can take this as your primary source of taking photos for the holiday weekend, it is going to capture something instead of nothing. That is the best I can say to comfort you.

Lava E-Tab XTRON+ runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It has a fairly decent user interface. There are no fancy features or even the ones actually necessary. It offers great customization and full control over what you want everything to look like. Android is an open OS hence more control over your apps hence great diversity and capabilities.

Lava E-Tab XTRON+ with the 1.5GHz Dual Core processor and 1GB RAM gives you a fine-fine performance. Lag is a part of this tablet so accept it, and it just increases as you use this one more and more. Hence durability is a huge issue here. The tablet comes with 8GB of internal memory with offer to expand it to 32GB. But the more you expand the more slow the tablet gets.

Final Thoughts

Well for a very average use tablet also it is just ok. Even for the sake of a one purpose- lets say reading, I would not buy this tablet. The alternatives are just too good. Or if you can’t buy an Asus which is just a tad more expensive or even HCL, go take much cheaper ones because they all stand the same.

Lava E-Tab XTRON+ comes for Rs. 6599
