Probably one of the most talked about upcoming phones in 2013, HTC ONE has delivered and it has delivered big! It is one of the best smart phones in the market and if not “THE” best available. From design to the camera to the display to everything else, this phone just screams quality and power. It blew us away. The display is so accurate, the phone responds so fast, the navigation is so easy with the UI, wow! The main rival for the HTC ONE is Samsung Galaxy S4. Let’s see how HTC ONE fared.

The HTC One will slog any other smartphone out of the park if you compare its design with another smart phone! There is no standing tall against it. HTC One has an aluminum body and a zero gap design. The zero gap design takes away the vital option of having a removable battery and expandable storage. HTC One can be compared to one phone when it comes to design and that is the iPhone 5! Both are made of aluminum and have the highest of qualities. HTC One has a curved back that gives you an amazing hold to the phone. The lock button is kind of weirdly placed at the left side upper edge instead of the right. Some might face difficulty reaching it. The lock button also acts like a tv remote as it has IR. It comes really handy.
The HTC One has the best sound there is on a smart phone period. The HTC One calls it Boom Sound. So what their integration with beats audio and sound engineering team has done is, place the speakers right in the front to direct sound towards you. The speakers are micro grilled and look just beautiful on the phone. HTC One has built in amplifiers amount to that boom sound. It gives you the best sound quality and quantity ever heard on a smart phone ever. HTC One comes in two colors- Silver and Black. The Black one looks classy just like the Silver but collects more fingerprints than the silver model.

The camera on the HTC One has an amazing camera. The primary camera has a 4MP sensor. One might go like “what? I am not paying 40,000INR for a 4MP camera phone” but they call it the ultrapixel camera. They have increased the size of the sensor which allows more light to fall on it and results to brilliant detailing of the images and amazing low light photographs. The ultrapixel is so called because they have increased the size of each pixel that also allows more light to be captured and makes all your images very accurate and beautiful. The phone loses its mark in proper day light photo. It gives you brilliant detail but washes off the natural colors that you might want to capture which you found soothing to your eyes. But it’s a personal preference too; I personally loved the way it is captured- the saturation, the colors, the contrasts and obviously the detailing! It’s an absolutely amazing smart phone camera.
You get great editing features like that on Instagram on the phone. The main camera feature that is integrated to it is the HTC Zoe. It takes about 6 seconds of video. This is idea for moving shots and you can just choose the best one and save it. The motion shots also allow you not to capture the whole series of movements but choose which one to keep and which ones to remove.
HTC One can capture videos in full HD @ 1080p quality on both the primary can secondary fronts. The front facing camera is a 2.1 MP camera which is one of the best front facing and wide angled front facing camera available.

HTC One has a 4.7 inch full HD 1920×1080 pixels display. It has the highest pixel density seen on a display till today i.e at 469ppi. The display is so beautiful to look at. Every detail, every small micron on this display is so accurate and so amazing to look at, simply blows you away. The colors are great. The large size allows you to watch amazing full HD videos and enjoy them for a longer time that supports your eyes better. The HD content looks wonderful on the display. Make full use of it and enjoy because yes this will last forever if you buy it.

Out of the box, the HTC flagship smart phone comes with the Android v4.1 Jelly Bean which is said to be upgradable to up to Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean by late July. The user interface is HTC’s new HTC Sense 5. It gives you brilliant hold on the phone, good amount of widgets and a nice way of organizing your apps. HTC introduced what it calls as HTC Blink Feed which gives you all the updates from your app at one single place and keeps them updated. Ti will cover your news, twitter account, facebook and everything else. You can say it is something very similar to Live Tiles on the Windows Phone 8 or the flipboard app over various other operating systems. You can choose to switch on or switch off the Blink Feed. It is actually very handy.

The HTC One is the second fastest smart phone available in the market, Samsung Galaxy S4 being the fastest. The HTC One fancies a Quad Core processor by Qualcomm- the Snapdragon 600 series processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. The phone also has a 2GB RAM which makes it a perfectly fast phone to use in today’s world. HTC One responds really well, it feels really smooth as you navigate your way through applications or switch to multitasking. It also has a good battery life, it gives you standby time of about 500h on 2G and 480h on 3G. The talktime varies from 27h on 2G and 18h on 3G. We experienced a rare sudden heating up of the phone and we had to straight away leave it to cool down, it gets really hot and there is no reason to it.

Memory and Data

HTC has provided this phone with a 32GB internal memory storage model or the 64GB. There is no external storage via microSD card. This might be a setback for a few people. It comes with the latest Bluetooth v4.0 and NFC. It also has the basic microUSB port to wire-transfer data. It supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks.

Final Thoughts

HTC One is the best smartphone we have ever had to use. It is just brilliant. You get that premium finish and feel to the phone, thanks to the aluminum body. The sound just hits you so strong, I mean built in amplifiers “whattt???” Quad Core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 and 2GB RAM, whoa. And its just not the numbers, it gives that performance statement as well. It is right up there with the Samsung Galaxy S4. It is just sad they make such wonderful phones and not get those sales that acknowledge this awesomeness. The full HD screen is going to knock your socks off. If you do not like the fact you cannot expand a memory or do not have removable battery, you should still consider this for all that makes it the HTC One! It is named correctly, it is THE one on which they rely on to change their phone sales all over the world.

There is nothing better for a person than his views to be heard. I am a music, tv shows, movies and technological enthusiast.
