HTC Desire 816 Review

This phone has generated a lot of buzz and it has been selling strong in many markets and especially in India. HTC Desire 816 has placed HTC amongst the top selling phones of Samsung and it is giving it a run for their money. HTC Desire 816 is a phone with an amazing specification sheet. Let us see if these specs make for an amazing performance phone. [wptab name=’Review’]

Design

Even though it is HTC, they have finally compromised something to achieve an overall awesomeness. HTC Desire 816 has a polycarbonate body which is pretty glossy and feels a tad chunky. The phone has an average feel to it. The dimensions overall are that of a larger phone. I like how smooth it is but it just does not feel like the amazing HTC Desire design line. The Desire 816 has Boom Sound Beats speakers as well. The speakers are really loud and extremely clear.

Display

I think this is by far the greatest display on a phone around this price. HTC Desire 816 comes with a 5.5 inch 720×1280 pixels resolution. That makes for a very dense and awesome HD display. The glare is not too much and that results in very nice viewing angles. Desire 816 has beautiful colours and an even better clarity to it. I loved watching movies on this display because of the 2 basic things you should get right- colour and clarity, but this also has size in its favour.

Camera

Some would say the HTC Desire 816 has a better camera than their main flagship- the HTC One M8. The HTC Desire 816 has a 13MP primary camera that takes some soothing shots. It gives a very good exposure and colour palate to your shots. HTC Desire 816 can make you woo on whatever you click. Even the focus is quiet nice and fast. The front facing camera is amazing for selfies, I know that’s all you care about these days.

Software

The HTC Desire 816 would be running on the HTC Sense UI 6 or also called the HTC Sixth Sense. This UI is much cleaner and subtle than the TouchWiz UI. HTC Desire 816 now has the amazing Blinkfeed and HTC Zoe for the camera. The heart that pumps the awesome through the phone is v4.4.2 KitKat Android OS.

Performance

HTC Desire 816 is an exceptional phone thanks to the Snapdragon 400 processor and 1.5GB RAM which make the performance of the phone really very smooth. 816 comes with 8GB internal memory and 128GB of external memory. You even get NFC capability in the phone. You get an average battery life.

HTC Desire 816 comes for Rs. 25,000
