HTC Desire 600 Review

HTC Desire 600 is one of the latest additions to the HTC smart phones after the release of their flagship phone the HTC One. The HTC Desire has the latest HTC Sense UI v4.0. HTC Desire 600 is pretty awesome given the specifications not just on paper but also in practice. HTC Desire 600 takes many of its built success from the previous range of HTC Desire phone series with the amazing matte finish. The phone is quiet powerful with its 1.2GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and has an amazing camera too. Unlike the HTC One, this comes with an option of expandable memory. There is a lot more to this phone, keep on reading to know better.

HTC Desire 600 looks pretty different than most phones. The main body is more like a rectangle but very slightly curved on the corners. On the edges all around the phone is perfectly cut from the front which joins the curved back towards the same edge. The lock button is at the top on the right hand side and the 3.5 mm headphone jack to its left. The volume rockers are placed on the right hand side at the edge. The microUSB slot is right there at the bottom of the phone with a space cut out which looks significant when you look from the back of the phone. HTC Desire 600 has the amazing matte rubbery finish you found on many of the Desire phones, it is of very high quality. You can see the micro drilled speakers on the front just like that on the HTC One, this is one feature they are carrying from the HTC One to this. Front speakers are really handy and even better when they are engineered by the best- Beats Audio. It comes in two colours- Black and White.

Display on the HTC Desire 600 is just wonderful it is a 4.5 inch qHD display with a resolution of 540×960 pixels. The colours on this display are really beautiful and vibrant. The HTC Sense adds a whole new dimension to the display by making it looks simpler and a lot classier. You can see the detailing on every icon, every inch of the phone showing the depth of this 4.5 inch display. Full HD video looks brilliant and the video engine or the GPU is just brilliant to give you wonderful graphics on the 245 pixel per inches display. This is one of the richest displays you will ever see, pretty better than the display compared to the Nexus 4 or the Sony Xperia SP.

HTC has not gone out and taken the Ultra Pixel camera for the Desire 600 rather they have put their awesome 8MP primary camera sensor on this phone. Unlike other smartphone companies, HTC is the only company that gives the specs of it’s camera too, the sensor size and pixel size etc. HTC Desire 600’s 8MP camera takes images in a max resolution of 3264×2448 pixels. The photographs look so lovely from this camera especially if you like to capture the nature, this camera takes some of the best macro shots I have ever seen and also those sceneries you wished you captured with the perfect colour saturation. The video is shot in 720p quality and is pretty stable thanks to video stabilization. The front camera is has a 1.3 MP sensor. The front facing camera has a wider angle of capturing image and video compared to most of the cameras. The primary sensor has a size of 1/3.2” and 1.4 nano meter of pixel size.

The user interface on the HTC Desire 600 is the latest HTC Sense v4.0 that you get on the HTC One and the mobile operating software that is the heart of this whole system is the Android v.4.1.2 Jelly Bean. HTC Sense gives you the HTC Blink Feed that provides you with live updates of the applications you have and the several news firms you get news from. It is more like flipboard sort of a thing but is pretty handy. Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense v4.0 gives this phone immense ease in usage and great amount of free applications to choose from. The HTC Sense is one of the best UI on an Android Phone.

Performance and Memory

HTC Desire 600 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz Quad Core processor and 1GB of RAM. The phone is one of the fastest phones available in the smart phone market right now period. The response time with 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor is just stunning and the basic games works so effortlessly on the phone. Theyalso look pretty stunning thanks to the Adreno 203 GPU. The internal memory on the phone is about 8GB that is a huge plus given external memory further slows down the phone. The 8GB can be expanded to as much as 64GB using the microSD cards. It supports EDGE, GPRS and 3G. You can also get data through Wi-Fi. Dependent on which market is it sold in, the HTC Desire 600 comes with NFC as well as the latest Bluetooth technology available. The 1860mAh battery is pretty awesome and provides this phone with 577h of stand by time and 11h on 3G!

Final Thoughts

HTC Desire 600 is the best phone available in the Rs.25000 price tag period. HTC seems to be trying to slog their way through every price tag first the HTC One (personally the best high end Android Phone till date) and now the HTC Desire 600. If you are a pure 5 inch display fan then maybe you should look elsewhere but the 4.5 inch display is very beautiful as well. The battery life is just wicked on this phone and the performance one of the best. The speakers have built in amplifiers and gives the loudest and the best sound available on the smartphone.

HTC Desire 600 comes for Rs. 25501
