HTC Desire 500 Review

An amazing mid ranged phone from HTC arrives for us electronic consumers, HTC Desire 500. It is a striking smartphone that you will love. It rides on HTC’s quality and the trademark audio integration with Beats Audio which happens to own a major stake in the company. Everything about this smartphone is amazing. It easily holds against of the mid ranged phone.

I would say the HTC Desire 500 looks more like the old school smartphones. It is nicely curved from the edges, both horizontally and vertically. The design does not give you a good hold on the phone. It’s easy with the relative smaller size but still something feels odd. The built quality is really awesome with the nice smooth material cover all over. Beats audio integration gives this device great on board speakers. Only problem, its placed at the back hence curbing the sound when placed on its back.

HTC Desire 500 has a 4.3 inch display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels. One of the most clear and well detailed displays there is on this price tag. It has great colours and looks less artificial and cartoonish. The viewing angles are great, even in straight sunlight you can see the display clearly without any problems. Videos look great and gaming experience is nice as well. The display really amazes me, all the displays from HTC. It’s also protective with good gorilla glass.

The primary camera has an 8MP sensor, it’s size is 1/3.2” and 1.4 micro meter pixel size. It can detect faces as well as smiles. Surprisingly the camera performs like one of those you get on the higher end smartphone cameras. The images are so beautiful, it will blow your mind away. The colours are so well in balance, good saturation and great sharpness. It can get blurry with night shots which also appear a little grainy. Video quality is amazing as well. The video looks nice but it’s not that stable. Front facing camera does a quality work in capturing your funny self portraits.

Android v4.1 Jelly Bean is the operating system running your HTC Desire 600. It is incorporated with HTC Sense UI 5.0. It brings you Blinkfeed which will “feed” you the latest info from your apps on one place. It is really helpful, saves you the trouble of opening everything. The user interface looks really clean and overall it does better work than TouchWiz. It gives you full authority on widgets and apps on the go.

HTC Desire 500 comes with 1GB of RAM and Snapdragon 200 Quad Core 1.2GHz processor. It makes a hell of a smartphone with such fire power. It is just rightly optimized. It can free flow and multitask without problems. It does not have NFC but you can surely share and pair with Bluetooth. You have enough memory with 4GB internal, but if you want you can expand to up to 64GB.

Final Thoughts

HTC Desire 500 is probably one of the best smartphones in it’s category. It has a great freaking body, amazing camera and beautiful display. I love the overall quality and the fact that its durable. Enough said anyway. One of the best phones to consider around this price.
