Asus Zenfone 5 Review

If you love the Asus Zenfone 4 there is a good chance you will adore the Asus Zenfone 5 as well. In every way, the Asus Zenfone 5 is better than the Zenfone 4, it has to be to justify the higher price. The phone is built around the philosophy of the Zenfone 4 but better and with better quality.

Design

The phone looks just like the Zenfone 4, it is just larger and slimmer and sexier in everyway. The curves near the edges are actually less subtle but somehow give you the same comfort as the younger brother. Asus Zenfone 5 has a smooth back, it is good to hold and you won’t complaint anything about it. Asus Zenfone 5 is slim, the design is good enough to give you a good look and be comfortable at the same time. The speakers are cool, they are just located at the wrong place- at the back. They block the sound too easily and you would need to put the back towards you to listen to the songs.

Display

You get a grand HD display on the Asus Zenfone 5. It is 5 inches in size and with the 720×1280 pixel resolution it looks absolutely stunning. Anything less would have led to noisy pixels in the UI as well as the images and videos. A great phone cannot be made without a great display and they tick that box here. The colours look fantastic, they are warm and the saturation is just right. Asus Zenfone 5 plays you amazing videos and gives you great gaming graphics with it’s GPU.

Camera

Asus provides you with an 8MP camera on the back. It takes wonderful photographs, good enough to flaunt you’re so very average photography skills over social media. The front camera is 2MP and good for the conventional selfies. The user interface for the camera is clean and does not give you much hold on the outcome of the photo. The video from the primary camera can be taken in full HD i.e 1080p. It looks beautiful and crystal clear.

Software

Asus uses their own UI made for the phone but it neither gives you any additional features nor additional apps to make you feel special. It runs on the v4.4.2 KitKat Android OS. You have the likes of Google Play Store for any app you might need. Android is also very open development platform and this has led to really amazing customization options.

Performance

Intel has made the processor for the stream of Asus phones that came out this year. In this phone Asus Zenfone 5, there is the Intel Atom Z2580 processor which has 2 cores and clocked at 2GHz. You get 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded to up to 64GB. The phone works really smooth thanks to all of these components.

Passion and Inspiration drives my life and I get them both from technology. Getting to write about it is an absolute bliss. The bliss comes from people reading what you want to convey. There is nothing better for a person than his views to be heard. I am a music, tv shows, movies and technological enthusiast.
