Asus Zenfone 5 Review

Asus has been able to produce a very decent phone for the budget bracket of the smartphone market. It might not be much worldwide but it is still pretty huge for people in developing markets such as China, India and the neighbors. Asus Zenfone 5 comes as one of the 3 budget smartphones that Asus unveiled to take on the market. Let us see if it worth your money.

The initial design does not catch your attention much. It is very normal and looks okay. The plastic borders do not look very appealing. Asus Zenfone 5 is tall and moderately heavy. It feels okay. It has a shiny and smooth plastic that feels better than it looks. The plastic build of the Asus Zenfone 5 is not at all chunky plastic that everyone dislikes. The speakers are really loud but not all that clear. You cannot expect much for less money anyway. The design overall does not impress but it does justice to the price.

Display is what Asus is actually selling with the Asus Zenfone 5. It is carrying a 5 inch HD display, which is with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The display really shines. It has good detailing and looks very clear. It has got a clarity that demands to be loved. It is certainly one of the best 5 inch HD displays around this price tag. Sometimes you do feel that the colors are washed off and they are but it is something you will only critically notice.

I really like what Asus was able to achieve with the 8MP camera on Asus Zenfone 5. It takes some really good saturated and colorful shots. The camera has a decent shutter speed and does not really take blurry shots in challenging conditions. It is easily better than counterpart Nokia and Motorola lenses. I really like the saturation bit because mostly the budget smartphones tend to take under saturated shots but this one was just about right. Even the video quality is quiet nice and it takes nice and smooth frames. The front camera is awesome for selfies, oh yes that’s what you care about.

Asus Zenfone 5 offers to run this phone on the latest v4.4.2 KitKat Android OS. The user interface has all elements of pro Android. You get widgets, you get your usual favorite tab of apps on the home screens. Apart from the basic UI design and structure the phone does not offer any significant features. It is just what a basic Android phone is.

With the Intel Atom Z2580 processor inside, the phone gets phenomenal optimization. It does not suck as much from the battery and yet gives you a good driving power for your apps to function. Asus Zenfone 5 offers you 2GB of RAM as well to add for effective multitasking. The battery backup is fairly moderate and like most of the phones it will get you through a day of moderate usage. Asus Zenfone 5 can offer you 8GB and 16GB models with expandable options up to 64GB.

Passion and Inspiration drives my life and I get them both from technology. Getting to write about it is an absolute bliss. The bliss comes from people reading what you want to convey. There is nothing better for a person than his views to be heard. I am a music, tv shows, movies and technological enthusiast.
